Each Literature Circle has 4 members (unless otherwise stipulated by Ms H).
Each member has a specific role.
These roles will rotate with each new reading.

Description of Roles / Tasks
Discussion Director
Create 4-6 open-ended questions for your group to respond to. After your literature circle has met you must post a statement to the Literature Circle Wiki
(click on your role). Your statement must include the following:
1. Your questions and a brief discussion about the responses and discussion generated by these questions.
2. A comment about any piggy-backing members.
3. Any comment you have about the Literature Circle. (Improvements, how it's going, enjoyment level etc - remember to give a reason for a comment)
Event Connector
Read the text and connect events and passages in the book to real life (other books, the world, own experiences etc). After your literature circle has met you must post a statement to the Literature Circle Wiki (click on your role). Your statement must include the following:
1. Your connections, any responses/reactions the circle members made to the connections.
2. A comment about any piggy-backing members.
3. Any comment you have about the Literature Circle. (Improvements, how it's going, enjoyment level etc - remember to give a reason for a comment)
Important Passage Searcher
Find words/passages that "stuck out" or caught your attention (these passages will either be important, puzzling, curious, inspiring or well-written) and share your thoughts with the circle. After your literature circle has met you must post a statement to the Literature Circle Wiki (click on your role). Your statement must include the following:
1. The thoughts you shared and any responses/reactions the circle members made to your thoughts
2. A comment about any piggy-backing members.
3. Any comment you have about the Literature Circle. (Improvements, how it's going, enjoyment level etc - remember to give a reason for a comment)
Word Investigator
Find 3 words that you don't know and look them up in the dictionary. Define each word in your own words. Create a cartoon that will help your circle understand the new words. After your literature circle has met you must post a statement to the Literature Circle Wiki (click on your role).
Your statement must include the following:
1. The three words you didn't know and your definitions for them. A brief description of your cartoon.
2. A comment about any piggy-backing members.
3. Any comment you have about the Literature Circle. (Improvements, how it's going, enjoyment level etc - remember to give a reason for a comment)
